West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme (WBSCC)

The West Bengal Student Credit Card Scheme (WBSCC)strong>, introduced by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengalstrong>, aims to help students achieve their educational goals by providing access to financial assistance for higher studies .Under this scheme, eligible students can avail of an education loan of up to ₹10 lakhstrong> at a simple interest rate of 4% per annumstrong> through participating public sector banks, private sector banks, State Cooperative Banks, and affiliated Central and District Central Cooperative Banks. Students who regularly pay the interest during the study period may receive an additional 1% interest concession.strong>

Applicants can apply for the scheme up to the age of 40 years.strong> The loan covers various education-related expenses, and the repayment period extends up to 15 yearsstrong>, including the moratorium or repayment holiday period.
