Dear friends,

Greetings from the Sankara Nethralaya Elite School of Optometry, Kolkata! It gives us immense pleasure to invite you to the Dr. S. S. Badrinath Memorial Optometry Scientific Session, held in honour of the Late Padma Bhushan Dr. Sengamedu Srinivasa Badrinath, whose vision and contribution have played a significant role in shaping optometry education and eye care in India. With the establishment of the Sankara Nethralaya Elite School of Optometry, Kolkata, in August 2024, his vision continues to inspire us to strengthen education, clinical practice, research, and community-oriented eye care.

This year’s scientific session brings the focus to “Redefine, Rehabilitate and Rebuild: Low Vision Care in Practice”, highlighting the importance of eye care beyond diagnosis and treatment, towards helping individuals make the best use of their available vision and achieve greater independence and quality of life. The session will bring together scientific presentations, a hands-on workshop, and an engaging quiz, creating opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, and connect clinical knowledge with real-world practice. We welcome students, academicians, researchers, and eye care professionals to share their research and clinical experiences as part of this scientific gathering.
